The home is nestled on 70 acres on a ridge providing a panoramic view of the Pennslyvannia cliffs along the Delaware River Valley. It is the perfect spot to relax while visiting Frenchtown, and is at the geographic center of the culturally rich, historic and beautiful Hunterdon and Bucks County areas. Brown's Guesthouse is within 20 minutes driving distance of each of Lambertville and New Hope, Flemington and Clinton, NJ and Lahaska and Doylestown, PA. The house includes a living room, dining room, full kitchen with all modern conveniences, two bedrooms, each which adjoin the bath. |
OUR COLONIAL LIVING ROOM The wide-planked wooden floors have been the meeting place for local townspeople and friends since 1780. You will not forget the hand-carved engraved mantle that encases our fireplace. Relax in an armchair, browse our bookcases, and enjoy the company of a book. MRS. BROWN'S BEDROOM
Retire upstairs to the quaintly appointed master bedroom with queen sized bed. The room is spacious and provides for sitting and reading next to a wood-crafted wall surrounding a fireplace. There is cable TV and air conditioning (if you need them.) In the morning, the view of the majestic Delaware Valley out the north window is unparalleled. (More pictures) |
THE GUEST ROOM
A Butler's Staircase hidden in the wall behind the dining room fireplace leads to the second bedroom. Many visitors have commented that they imagined an author cloistered away in this warm space. Each bedroom has cable t.v. and is air-conditioned. The bedrooms accommodate two couples traveling together or a couple with children over 12. You never lodge with someone you do not know. When you book the Guesthouse, you have the exclusive use of the house and 70 acre grounds. Upon request, this room can be "turned down" to a conference room for a traveling executive or to accommodate a strategic offsite meeting. The "Butler" removes the furniture and replaces it with a conference table, computer with Internet access, fax/copier and telephone with conference capability. (More pictures) |
THE DINING ROOM
To the Innkeeper, each room is breathtaking, but the dining hearth and fireplace have moved everyone who has viewed it. Brown's dining room was originally the Colonial kitchen. Enjoy a candlelight romantic evening and dine with the open hearth fireplace (used for decades for preparing meals) as your background. Enjoy a leisurely or formal lunch or dinner which you can prepare to your tastes. Many of Frenchtown's and the area's finer establishments will cater in a speciality meal on your order. For an especially romantic treat, Brown's has a chef who will come to the home to prepare an exquisite meal to your menu and tastes. THE KITCHEN Breakfast at our round kitchen farm table and watch, through the window, the birds at the feeder. The kitchen is fully equipped, including a range, a stove, microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator. There is dinner service for eight and all you need if you wish to prepare your own meals. Brown's provides a European style continental breakfast of cereals, yogurt, breads, bagels, danish, a basket of seasonal fruit, juices and all you need to brew coffee or a variety of teas for your first morning. We will also "provision up" the kitchen with gourmet and/or other staples on your order. Check our amenities page for our provisioning services. |
